My Seven Figures Newsletter
January 16th, 2007 by John
Welcome to the first installment of the My Seven Figures Newsletter and thanks for being a subscriber.
You’ll be receiving 2 of these every month…one from me…and one from Liz. We’ll be plugging you into what is working for us, and what isn’t.
As we mentioned when you first signed up, this isn’t about pimping every product under the sun to you for the sake of us living large.
This is about you getting an insider’s look at our quest for 7 figures in 2007.
Let me address one other very important point here. A couple folks have emailed me, asking why we feel the urge to “show off”…
This has nothing to do with “showing off” either.
This newsletter has two purposes. To give Liz and me the extra mental boost and focus to accomplish our objectives…
And to hopefully help you grow your business by mirroring what we do that works.
Ok, with that out of the way… In order for us to each achieve our 7 figure objectives, we’ll need to bring in $83,333.33 per month.
When Liz and I first discussed doing this newsletter it was back in November of 2006. We began to plot out how we would reach our 7 figure goals, but we knew we’d have to put some serious efforts into several months in 07.
While we both bring in a comfortable 6 figures we’re going to need to make up some ground for the early months of the year, as we begin putting our efforts into play.
So, here are some things we did to prepare for the year, and to begin achieving our goals.
1) We created a business plan. You may have heard this before, but this is so critical. You simply cannot achieve incredible success without planning and carving out your path.
If you’re not certain how to get started on creating your plan, here’s a software program created strictly for Internet Marketers that really simplifies the process.
http://www.lamakalla.com/BPS.htm It’s going to run you $67 but it’s a terrific mechanism for creating your own plan, and getting your business directionally correct.
2) We got organized. Liz and I knew that it would take several different projects and several different business types to get us where we wanted to be.
We also knew that with everything we had on our individual plates, plus our combined efforts that some of the “to-do’s” could get lost or left for dead.
Enter Basecamp at http://www.basecamphq.com This is an online project management utility designed to keep all your projects organized, on time, and in one place.
I could go on and on and on about all the bells and whistles, but I’ll let you check it out for yourself. It’s very affordable, has a free trial, and is super easy to use.
So, we crafted a plan, got organized, and now we’re on our way to implementing. You’ll be hearing more about this implementation in upcoming newsletters.
One other thing before I sign off today. While I’m looking to end January in only five figures, I did happen upon a nice little business model I thought you might be interested in.
It made me a quick $3500, and could easily be replicated time and time again. That said, it would take some work. But even if you could only do this twice per month, that’s a handy $7000. Right?
Here’s what I did exactly…
1) I had a niche web site that was part of my plan in mid 2006, but never got around to doing anything with it. As Liz and I were preparing for 2007 I realized that this was not part of the new business model.
My first thought was, “Leave it for dead”. My second thought was, “Don’t be stupid. Monetize it somehow”.
2) Initially I was going to take the web site and the product and sell 10 PLR licenses or $500. I could have done that, but again this was no longer part of my business model. So, I opted to just sell the whole kit and caboodle as a business.
3) I went back, took a look at my copy, made some quick tweaks, and then created a Sales Letter to sell the whole business. The person that bought it from me would get the product, the product sales letter, the product Thank You page, and he domain name.
4) Then, I went to the Warrior Forum (Internet Marketing Forum) and created a WSO (Warrior Special Offer) which is essentially a $20 classified ad that is very targeted to Internet Marketers, and I sold my niche business.
5) The results. I had $3500 within 2 hours of posting the ad.
Can you do this? Sure you can. Be certain you have a quality product with quality copy, and of course it needs to be your own product.
Also, the Warrior Forum is a great place to market your wares, but you do need to respect it by not being spammy, and by only offering quality.
If you can bring that to the table then by all means, give this a run and pad your pockets by selling off businesses you may have left for dead, or create some new ones and sell the “business in a box”.
People love easy, and they love to not have to do the work.
That’s it for now. Liz is on deck with the next newsletter in a couple of weeks, and more information on what she and I are up to.
Please ask questions, leave comments, and let us know what you’re thinking.
Till Next Time,
John & Liz
PS – If I don’t hit my goal this year, I will be getting a purple Mohawk. Feel free to offer suggestions as to what we do to Liz;-)

The website you sold - was it getting any traffic when you sold it? Or was the value purely based on the content you developed and provided for the site?
